The wildfires that are still burning an hour to our north have had a devastating impact on the people living there. At least 31 people have died and 3,500 families have lost their homes, most of these in Santa Rosa. Our thoughts go out to all those affected, our friends and neighbors, who will be rebuilding their lives in the months to come.
We greatly appreciate the firefighters who are working at the limits of their endurance to control the fires before the winds pick up again. We applaud the volunteers who are adding their efforts to help care for the people who have lost their homes.
The smoke in our area serves as a grim reminder of the tragedy. Please take heed of the EPA guidance included in the email Glenn Kubiak sent Wednesday, Oct. 11, to the Lab community. Also, elsewhere in TABL you’ll find information about how you can help those impacted by the fires.
