I remember Inge very well, and my guess is that many LBL people of a certain vintage also remember her. It seems like ancient history, but back then, when you were scheduled to travel, you could go to Building 90 and get cash (or traveler’s checks) in advance of your trip, so that you wouldn’t have to pay first yourself. Inge was the one we all met who handled this process–and she was always in a good mood, ready to talk about your trip, and always full of life and stories. She was especially sweet to the young scientists for whom, without that advance, the choice was often pay the rent or make the trip. She was a warm and kind to all of us.
