New Consortium to Promote Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicles

The California Energy Commission will provide more than $3 million to a new Northern California consortium to provide outreach and training through the proposed Northern California Alternative Transportation Fuel and Advanced Vehicle Technology Center, or North CAT. The consortium will be led by the Transportation Sustainability Research Center at UC Berkeley. The Lab’s effort, led by Anand Gopal and including Samveg Saxena and Venkat Srinivasan, all of EETD, will focus on last-mile technology deployment and demonstration of electric vehicle batteries and grid integration. CalCharge, a partnership between Berkeley Lab and CalCEF, is also a partner in the new consortium. More>
