In Memoriam: AFRD Retiree Shmuel Eylon

Shmuel Eylon, a former experimentalist with the Heavy Ion Fusion Sciences (HIFS) program in the Accelerator and Fusion Division, passed away May 14. Eylon started at the Lab in 1988 and retired in 1993, though worked intermittently as a guest and rehired retiree between 1997 and 2008. His research focused on key HIFS experiments, including transport studies on MBE-4, development of hot-plate sources, commissioning of the 2MV Injector, and neutralized transport and drift compression experiments.
