Goats Return to Berkeley Lab Hills

A brigade of goats will once again roam the hills of Berkeley Lab, eating grasses to reduce fire hazards in the summer and fall. They are arriving earlier than usual due to heavy rains and growth over the winter. The herd will start in the East Canyon area above Buildng 85 then work clockwise around the Lab perimeter. They will stay for about four to five weeks. Employees are reminded that the fences erected around the Lab to pen the goats are electrically charged with low voltage and should not be touched. Warning signs will be posted.

  1. What is the name of the firm supplying these goats? I’d love to be able to hire some goats for my lovely weed-encrusted yard (which is of course much smaller than the lab campus, requiring only a few rather than hundreds of goats..)
