Livermore Lab Director Stepping Down

[Mercury News] After a four-decade career with Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, Director George Miller recently announced that he will step down in October. He also will resign as president of Lawrence Livermore National Security, which runs the national security laboratory for the Department of Energy. Miller assumed lab leadership in 2006, guiding it through the 2007 transition from University of California management to administration by Lawrence Livermore National Security, a for-profit corporation that includes Bechtel, Babcock & Wilcox, URS, Battelle and the University of California.
