On June 20, members of the Berkeley Lab Ukulele Club entertained volunteers and donors at a thank-you dinner held at the City of Hercules Public Library and hosted by the Hercules Community Library Foundation with support from Mechanics Bank. The Library, which opened in 2006, is a state-of-the-art facility built collaboratively by the City of Hercules, the State of California, and Contra Costa County. The Hercules Community Library Foundation raises money to allow the library to extend their hours to 40 a week and supplies volunteers to help in the day-to-day operations of this facility that includes a Teen Room, two meeting rooms, a children’s story area, and more. Six members of the Berkeley Lab Ukulele Club played and sang for approximately 50 guests and are pictured here with Hercules Vice-Mayor Sherry McCoy.
