The new Vehicle Access and Alternative Transportation Advisory Group is working on potential solutions to the Lab’s growing population on the main site and to hold off near-term vehicle access fees. Equipment from the Old Town Demo will be removed between 7 a.m. and noon on Jan. 16. During this time, Blackberry Gate, and portions of Cyclotron, Chu, Smoot and McMillan Roads may be shut down. Many employees requested an earlier opening for the Strawberry Canyon Gate—and Protective Services listened. Effective today, the gate will open at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. The closing time remains at 8:00 p.m. This gate is closed on weekends.
Blackberry Gate will be closed from 6 p.m. tomorrow, June 8, through 7 p.m. on Sunday. Staff entering the Lab during that time must use Strawberry Gate, except those working in Building 88, who must use Blackberry gate. Pedestrians and cyclists walking their bikes can also enter via Blackberry Gate.
