Reva Nickelson Named New Director of Facilities

facilitiesReva Nickelson has been named the new director of Berkeley Lab’s Facilities Division, effective July 14. Nickelson comes to Berkeley after 24 years of engineering, project management, and management experience at Idaho National Laboratory (INL).

She holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Idaho.

Her background at INL includes diverse roles such as R&D Support Services Division Director, Laboratory Performance Director, and, for the last five years, Deputy Director for Facilities and Site Services. Her in-depth facilities background includes strategic planning, operations and maintenance, power management, roads and grounds, construction, transportation, fabrication and logistics.

Nickelson’s distinguished record of accomplishments leading and managing facilities in support of science and technology, as well as her collaborative approach to management and relationship building, will help guide and expand facility efforts at Berkeley Lab.

This appointment comes at a time of significant facilities activity at the lab, with several important construction and other infrastructure renewal projects underway that will help the Lab continue to deliver world class science and energy innovation in support of DOE’s mission and in service of the Nation.
