New DOE Reporting Requirements for Attending, Hosting Conferences

Over the past 18 months, DOE has issued guidance regarding new reporting requirements for attending and hosting conferences. The core requirements have been added to the Laboratory’s contract, and Conference Services recently updated its policies to reflect these changes.

Specifically, Conference Services developed a separate, new policy for anyone who plans to attend a conference or event. In addition, Conference Services revised the existing (hosted) events policy to include the conference reporting requirements and clarify rules about hosting events and meals at the Lab.

Many events that were not considered “conferences” in the past are now reportable to DOE under the new requirements. It is important to read and understand the new requirements before you make any plans to attend a conference, meeting, training or workshop.
