Updates and Reminders About Today’s Strike Activities

This morning, May 7, the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), a University of California bargaining unit, began strike activities across the UC System. Another UC bargaining unit, UPTE, has announced it will strike Tuesday morning, May 8. Berkeley Lab employees are represented by both unions. This morning, small groups were picketing at the intersection of Hearst and Gayley (below the Blackberry Gate), outside the Grizzly Gate, and on Centennial Drive. The Lab’s security team conducted additional checks of vehicles entering all Berkeley Lab gates to ensure that people use the correct gates. Traffic delays were minimal. More>
