New Addition to Family of Light-Responsive Proteins

A study from a team of researchers led Cheryl Kerfeld (Biosciences Area) made the cover of Nature Plants. The study characterized a member of the orange carotenoid family of proteins (OCPs), which change shape in response to ambient light conditions to protect the host cyanobacteria. Understanding how OCPs work paves the way for engineering the protein. More>
