Another Successful Daughters & Sons to Work Day

Last week, employees worked together to welcome more than 100 students ages 9-16 to the Lab for the annual Daughters and Sons to Work Day. The day-long event, hosted by Workforce Development & Education, included tours of research facilities and hands-on activities. This Exposure feature includes photos from the event.

Please, next year ask the adults responsible for the oversight of the lunch activities to emphasize everyone’s responsibility for the care of our natural environment including the lab. After the lunch concluded the ALS patio and hillside below were strewed with paper, plastic and aluminum. It would present a good learning opportunity for all to take a pause, look around and collectively pick up the area leaving it as they found it for others who may want to have lunch or take a break in this beautiful outdoor setting.

Thanks, Dave Malone, ALS employee and avid participant in the 70s’ ecology movement
