Protocol for Dialing 911

When dialing 911 from a Lab phone, callers will not reach the fire department. They will instead be connected to the UC Dispatch Center, which transfers calls related to medical, fire, or hazmat incidents to the Alameda County Regional Emergency Communications Center. Don’t hang up during transfer. Calling 911 from a cell phone will connect you with a local 911 dispatcher. More>

According to Rhett Persaud of Protective Services:

799 does still work but we are no longer required to dial the “7” in front of the 911.

If we end up dialing 7911 the call will still be directed to the 911 service.

  2. does 7911 still work?
