Cyclotron Road’s Opus 12 Wins Gene Roddenberry Prize

The Roddenberry Foundation, set up in memory of Star Trek’s creator Gene Roddenberry, seeds innovation projects through catalyst grants, a fellowship program, and a $1 million challenge. The first-place winner ($400K) is Opus 12, which is developing a process for converting industrial carbon dioxide emissions into useful products, like ethanol, diesel, and gasoline. More>

    How cool is that. Congratulations Kendra, Etosha and Nick. Has been fun watching the growth and success of your endeavors. It seems like it was yesterday when you all started at LBNL and didn’t even have an office or a lab. Great progress. Wow, what an honor to have your names next to Roddenberry. Kudos!
