Use Extreme Caution Around Facilities Operations

Lab staff are reminded to always follow the direction of traffic flaggers and never circumvent safety warning devices. Facilities workers deal with hazardous situations around the Lab almost every day. When these hazards have the potential to affect our coworkers and guests, Facilities workers take precautions to protect the Lab community by erecting caution tape, placing cones in the roadway for traffic control, or setting up barriers to deny access. Observing the following precautions will help to keep them safe. Remember…

· Never move or circumvent warning devices
· Drive very slowly around traffic control zones
· Don’t pass forklifts or busses on Lab roadways
· Reduce speed around construction sites

Violators can be issued a citation by UCPD for disobeying traffic control flaggers.
