After three successful years of Open House events, budget constraints will prevent the Lab from hosting one this year. But the Lab will continue its public outreach efforts with participation in “Sunday Streets” on Oct. 13. As part of the event, Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley will be closed for 17 blocks, from Rose St. to Haste St., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Lab’s booth will feature information and demos on indoor air quality and artificial photosynthesis research, as well as a hands-on activity to show how cool paint can reduce energy use. The booth will be located on the west side of Shattuck Ave., between Center and Addison. Employees interested in volunteering can contact Lyn Hunter.
