EETD Lecture on ‘Green Development in China: Certain or Uncertain?’

EETD will host a talk by Wang Shi on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at noon in the Building 50 auditorium. He’ll discuss “Green Development in China: Certain or Uncertain?” Chinese urbanization is moving millions of new people into cities each year. For every two homes built on the earth, one is in China. Although still developing, China already consumes half of the world’s cement and steel, and is the biggest producer of carbon emissions. Shi, founder and chairman of development company China Vanke, will explore how can China meet its massive housing construction demand without destroying the environment. More>
