Hydrogen Fuel From Sunlight

August 30, 2013

Gary Moore, Junko Yano and Ian Sharp of the Physical Biosciences Division, working at the Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (JCAP), have developed a way to interface a molecular hydrogen-producing catalyst with a visible light absorbing semiconductor. This approach opens a path to producing hydrogen fuel off a photocathode using sunlight and catalysts made from Earth-abundant elements. Also contributing to this research were Alexandra Krawicz, Jinhui Yang and Eitan Anzenberg. More>
