Half of Classrooms Don’t Meet State Ventilation Standards

This NBC Bay Area story covers a study from Berkeley Lab that found that more than half of California classrooms are below state ventilation standards. Building code requires schools be built to provide a ventilation rate of 7.1 liters per second per person. In the Bay Area, the median estimated rate among classrooms studied is 5.1 liters per second per person. The rate for portable classrooms is just 3.1 liters per second per person.
