The Physical Biosciences Division presents a lecture by structural biologist Cheryl Kerfeld tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in the Building 50 Auditorium. Kerfeld heads the Education Program at the Joint Genome Institute and is also an adjunct professor of Plant and Microbial Biology at UC Berkeley. Her research aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of two key processes of cyantobacterial photosynthesis: photoprotection and CO2 fixation. Kerfeld has longstanding interests in bioinformatics and research-based and interdisciplinary education. The event will be streamed live. Refreshments will be served.
