MSD’s Weber-Bargioni Talks on the Physics of Bike Racing at Local Café

March 27, 2013

How do you stay upright on a bike? What is the physics behind racing techniques? How do you assemble the ideal racing team? Physics provides the answers. Hear Lab materials scientist Alex Weber-Bargioni explain the physics of bike racing tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at Actual Café in Oakland (corner of San Pablo and Alcatraz). While Weber-Bargioni no longer races, he is an avid cyclist, riding to work almost every day and a member of the East Bay Velo Club. “I’m very passionate about cycling,” he explains. “It is such an efficient way to get around while still being connected with the environment. It’s one of the most brilliant inventions.”
