Be Aware of July 11 Lab Evacuation Drill When Scheduling Activities

January 24, 2013

The Lab’s annual evacuation drill is on Thursday, July 11, from approximately noon to 5 p.m. This is a key emergency preparedness exercise where the Lab’s response to an approaching wildland fire will be simulated by evacuating certain buildings on the hill. Zone 1 Lab buildings — 50, 54, 55, 56, 56A and 56W, 60, 63, 64, 65, 70, 70A, 88, and 90 — will be evacuated by their BET members. This exercise may impact travel around or off the Lab site, so take this into account when scheduling meetings, seminars, or conferences on that day. More information will be provided in the months leading to the exercise. Contact Jan McClellan at x7570 with any questions.
