Two Lab Energy Efficiency Projects Receive ARPA-E Funding

Two Berkeley Lab research projects were awarded grants totaling $5million by the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) to advance energy technologies. The Foundry’s Delia Milliron will receive $3 million for her work on smart window technologies. ETTD’s Philip Haves will receive $1.94 million for developing a system to create 3D “maps” of buildings (similar to video above) in order to track thermal use, which will allow more efficient design and construction.
