“Hunting For The Higgs Boson” at the University and in the City

November 2, 2012

Peter Jenni, longtime spokesperson for the ATLAS collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider, visits Berkeley Lab next week and appears at two special events in the Bay Area. On Monday he’ll deliver the UCB Department of Physics Segrè Lecture, starting at 5 p.m. in the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union. Jenni’s topic is new physics at the LHC, including the recent discovery of what “may well be the long-awaited Higgs Boson.” He’ll appear again Wednesday at swissnex San Francisco, starting at 6:30 p.m. for an evening that includes “Ask a [Berkeley Lab] Scientist” (seven of them!) and other treats including a “Higgs Boson cocktail.”
