Cool Your School, an activities-based curriculum centered on Berkeley Lab’s cool-surface and cool-materials research, was successfully tested in Berkeley Middle Schools during the 2011-12 academic year. The program, developed in a collaboration between scientists from the Lab’s Environmental Energy Technology Division and Public Affairs’ Center for Science and Engineering Education — and designed to meet state science standards — will now become a regular part of the district’s middle school science curriculum.
