Two herds of goats instead of one have been roaming the hills of Berkeley Lab this year, eating grasses to reduce fire hazards in the summer and fall. With more goats, they have grazed the site faster and will likely leave the Lab by Tuesday after they are done chomping the hill above Building 46. The goats come from Goats R Us, a family-owned and operated company; their farm is located in Martinez and is available for a visit. Employees are reminded that the fences erected around the Lab to pen the goats are electrically charged with low voltage and should not be touched. (Click on photo to view larger size.)
