Breaking down high-energy plants, such as switchgrass and miscanthus, cheaply and efficiently — and turning them into advanced biofuels — has long been the goal of biofuels’ research. JBEI’s success in engineering microbes to do exactly that has now been featured in a DOE “Breakthrough” video, written and produced by Public Affairs. The video is part of series in which national laboratories highlight success stories with broad societal impact.
