During the recent Applied Ergonomics Conference in Nashville the Joint Genome Institute competed against companies including GE Healthcare and Boeing for the Ergo Cup. The team, represented by Cheryl Chu (left) and Christine Naca brought home the first runner-up plaque in the Ergonomic Program Improvement Initiatives category. “In the Beginning, There ISErgo” highlighted the Lean Six Sigma driven-approach to strategic planning that led to ergonomics being incorporated earlier upstream into new employee orientation and new technology implementation procedures. The JGI won the Ergo Cup in 2007 and 2010.
