Michael Beaudrow, an accelerator operator at the Advanced Light Source, passed away at home on March 25 from pancreatic cancer. He was 59 years old. Beaudrow started his career at the Lab in 2002 as an operator at the 88-inch cyclotron, moving to the ALS in 2003. In addition to running and troubleshooting the accelerator systems, he managed the Control Room computers, updating operating systems and software as needed. “Throughout his illness, Michael reacted with calmness, courage and remarkable grace” said co-worker Rick Bloemhard.
