Proving that Berkeley Lab employees are indeed a generous group, a three-day fund drive to assist victims of the Japan disaster held last week yielded over $5,000. The funds will be distributed to the Red Cross, Japanese Consulate, and the Japanese Cultural Community Center of Northern California. The top donor was Kenzi Karasaki of the Earth Sciences Division, who gave $1,000. Members of the Lab’s Asian Association and Diversity Council organized the fund drive and staffed a table in the cafeteria lobby. Go here to view a list of volunteers.
