Putting Love Under a Microscope

March 15, 2011

Last month, James Larmer of Emeryville popped the big question in a truly unique way…by having his bride-to-be find an engagement ring under an electron microscope at the Molecular Foundry. Larmer invited his “science geek” girlfriend Debra Winter to a tour of the Foundry. Larmer worked with lab personnel in advance to hide the ring under an electron microscope so that — while using it during their tour — Winter would see the ring…and Larmer would pop the question.
